“Motorola has just taken the wraps off the Milestone 2, the European version of the Motorola Droid 2. As such, this smartphone is going to run Android OS 2.2 on a 1 GHz processor, and have a 3.7-inch Touchscreen and sliding keyboard. The most significant difference between the Milestone 2 and the Droid 2 is the inclusion of MotoBlur. Verizon passed on this custom user interface, while Motorola decided to include it on the European version. Of course, the upcoming version is going to support the GSM/HSPA networks used in Europe, and will also include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1. It will be able to act as a mobile hotspot. The Milestone 2 is going to be a slider with a 3.7-inch WVGA display and a landscape-oriented keyboard. It will have a 5 megapixel camera and, unlike its U.S. equivalent, the ability to record 720p HD video. Because this smartphone is going to run Google Android OS 2.2, it will have support for Adobe Flash Player 10.1, giving users access to websites that employ Flash. This operating system also brings a very capable web browser, email software, music and video player, and the the web browser supports Adobe Flash. The second Milestone model will include 8 GB of on-board storage as well as an 8 GB microSD/SDHC memory card. The Motorola Milestone 2 will launch in Europe at some point in the fourth quarter of this year. Pricing has not yet been announced.” via brighthand.com

Samsung Galaxy TAB. First Look

“Samsung suffers from the lack of Super AMOLED screens for Wave and Galaxy S. The demand is so high that it will be matched by supply no sooner than by the summer of 2011, even taking into account the opening of a plant to manufacture screens in the final quarter of this year. It is quite a drag for Samsung, because all future flagships are expected to be equipped with Super AMOLED screens, which are not available in necessary quantities. That is why there is no Super AMOLED in the tablet. Characteristics of future flagships are up in the air. Will they get this screen and which model (Wave or Galaxy S) will be sacrificed? I hope this paragraph vividly explains why Samsung TAB features an ordinary TFT screen.” Read more here:

While perusing the IFA show floor in Berlin, Germany, we stumbled across a device that resembles early shots of the Windows Phone 7 powered LG Optimus 7 (GW910). We’re not sure if it’s the device, but we do know that it’s powered by Windows Phone 7 and was mighty speedy during our DLNA demo with a TV product spokesperson. Could this be the NVIDIA Tegra 2 powered Windows Phone 7 device we’ve been waiting for?
