Noah checks out the Nokia E63, an unlocked GSM smartphone that’s the E71’s little brother. E63 keeps the S60 platform, great QWERTY board, and 3G/WiFI connectivity that E71 has, but drops the HSDPA and GPS, and trades a metal body for plastic in order to cut costs. I know its standard now to have a Roker Switch (Music volume up/down) But thats no reason not to buy this phone, it was not set out for Music, it was set out for email, text, and surft the web. Also it has a 3.5m jack so whats wrong?

Its not the build cost that made them to remove the volume buttons. They just want to make it LESS than E71. Its an easy way to limit the sales without doing crazy compromises like removing 3G or something stupid like that.
E71 is just more appealing, nothing much more. Its the reason people buy Alfa Romeos; they like them, they dont care about reliability.
Music and videos will go to the N81 then. The music quality is much better with the N81, and the screens are the same size. They both have wifi. I assume you’re on a budget. If you can afford it though, I’d go with the N85.

I never really use a phone’s multimedia features - not interested in its media player or camera - so it’s a non-issue for me that there is no volume rocker on this phone or that it has only a 2 megpxl camera. I am interested in it as a good messaging and call phone…..
