Yes it is. Just like the original Omnia you can tether with this phone.

The touch responsiveness is great, it’s just the main TouzhWiz screen that doesn’t respond well (unfortunately). You can disable this screen or use something like SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 and it will be smooth as butter.

I would get the 3GS but only because of the tons of apps available for the iPhone. Due to it’s popularity, there is massive support and a giant community for the iPhone which I doubt verizon will have for the samsung.

    REAL QUESTION / INQUIRY:
Is it possible to use this phone as a modem for the Laptop like I can use the Blackberry to connect to the intenet at 1.5Megabits?

That is VERY IMPORTANT for my business

Boy, there is nothing more pityful than seeing a reviewer that’s used to a capacitive screen reviewing a device with a resistive screen. You all should know by now that it is a totally different technology with a totally different way of using it. Learn to use it because it is going to be with us for a very long time. Maneuvering the Omnia ll is not as bad as the reviewer wanted to show.

what is the difference between Omnia II i8000 and Jet S8003?

    Comment | November 21, 2009
  • JonGarrett2010

I doubt it. VZW still using CDMA which really hamstrings them when it comes to phones like this.

I really hope VZW pulls a magic rabbit out of its hat and announces that they have a Symbian and WinMo Omnia for sale together, day and date.

I mean, the HD and II vary a few megapixels, give or take a minor feature or resolution change, so subsidies should be comparable. If they really want to kick Nokia while they’re down, Samsung will make it happen, take Symbian mainstream in the US off an owned identity.

WM and resistive rub me the wrong way, but I’ll take the Omnia 2’s brunette sister.
