LG Quantum vs Samsung Focus

PhoneArena presents a thorough comparison of the LG Quantum and Samsung Focus. In this comparison we’re going to pit the LG Quantum against Samsung’s solid offering in the form of the Focus. On one hand, the Samsung Focus stands highly on its pedestal thanks to its gorgeous Super AMOLED display, while the LG Quantum offers the convenience of a physical QWERTY keyboard. But when both are priced evenly at 9.99 with a contract, there can only be one that reigns supreme in the aftermath… For more details, check out our full comparison: www.phonearena.com

    @DarkFilmDirector You would have to be blind not to notice the difference. The Super AMOLED screen is far better, and has better viewing angles as well. It’s also much better outside in the sunlight. There is no comparsion. The Focus’ screen is also bigger.

    @StealthX41 It does not have more memory. The memory is the same in both. As for storage, you can add an additional 32GB micro-sd card to the to it, for a total of 40GB. So the storage argument is irrelevant. As for the plastic argument, the plastic in the Focus is very sturdy and very high quality. It also weighs less which is a plus. There is nothing cheap feeling about the Focus.

    Both phones have their positives, but the screen alone puts the Focus out front.

    @DarkFilmDirector

    sounds like you bought a Quantum and your trying to justify your purchase to yourself when its clearly worse than the focus.

    @SHlNOBUU not really. the lg has a full keyboard, more ram, internal memory, more sturdy, and scratch resistant body. the samsung does have a significantly larger and vibrant screen. but its body is 100% plastic, less memory and ram, more awkwardly placed micro usb port, and lock buttons, and very scratch absorbing.

    The only difference is the quality of pictures, which is very slimly better on the Focus. I thought it disengenous that the reviewer specifically claimed the flash on the Quantum is not that great when I’ve used both hands on and there really isn’t a difference. Both of these are great phones and literally the only difference is the weight and slightly lower digital vibrance on the Quantum. But that alone does not make the Focus the better phone. Furthermore, the Qauntum is on sale for $80.

    The reviewer from the very start reveals a distinct bias towards the Focus because he implies that on Win 7 phones there is no need for a physical keyboard. This is simply untrue with any heavy texter, especially if you text in a hurry. Because of the exaggerated digital vibrance of color on the Focus, he rates it over the Quantum. If you are like me and do most work at night, you aren’t going to notice the difference at all. Ontop of this, the flash is nearly the same on both phones

    Great comparative review, PhoneArena. The side by side views along with the same side by side functional comparisons are extremely helpful. Keep up the great work!

    @greenscreeningthings Yes exactly! It needs AMOLED because of the colors they have are very bright. I was gonna get the HD7 before but I wasn’t too impressed with the quality so I stuck with Dell Venue Pro.

    @indaclub489 agreed! WinPho7 is just screaming out for AMOLED with that Ui! It looks much nicer when you can’t tell where the menus end and where the phone starts. WinPho7 doesn’t look very good with imperfect blacks…

    Is it just me or does the Focus look like a cheeper version of an iphone 4 from the top?
